We are sad to announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and great grandmother Ann Robinson Perry, 91, of 54 High Street (The Weldon House) who died on January 27, 2021 after a brief (non-COVID) illness.

Mom was born on November 26, 1929 in Greenfield the daughter of Lawrence and Alice Robinson. The family moved to her maternal grandparents' farm in Whately during the great depression where Mom was able to enjoy horseback riding and farming during her formative years.

She attended local schools and Manhattanville College before marrying Neil L. Perry on November 25, 1950. The couple moved to a Victorian house on High Street in Turners Falls and raised their six children.

Mom returned to college at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst to complete her teaching degree in the mid 1960s. She taught first grade at Buckland-Shelburne Elementary School and later at Northfield Elementary School.

In later years, Mom was a housekeeper at the Anchorage Nursing home as well as facilities in Falmouth and Brockton. Mom later returned to Greenfield as a resident at the Morgan-Allen House.

Mom enjoyed her later years by moving to the Weldon House. She could be seen enjoying daily walks around town, visiting the library, Greenfield Markets, and World Eye Bookstore. She also became a long time volunteer at Franklin Medical Center and a mentor and friend to those in need.

Mom spent these happy later years enjoying trips with her delighted children, including visits to Florida (she never forgot a Ja'Duke Bus Ride to Disney World and a flight delay in Fort Myers!), a cruise to Bermuda, a glorious family wedding in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, a bus trip to Washington DC, countless overnights at Hampton Beach, and joining the family on vacations on several New Hampshire lakes. Mom loved to read and she was the first to see a new movie. We are saddened to say goodbye to Mom but we are blessed that she was able to share such a wonderful renewal with us. Hers truly was a wonderful life.

Mom leaves her six proud children - Chris (Kathy) of Turners Falls, Robin (Michelle) of Naples Florida, Leslie Sliva of Erving, William (Wid) (Susan) of Greenfield, Alison of Gill, and James of Greenfield; twelve grandchildren: Ian (Emily), Caleb, Carlyn, Derek (Nicole), Eric (Jenna), Teagan (Robert), Megan, Michael, Shelly (Justin), Tessa, Joslyn, and Haley, and eleven great grandchildren; her Brother Harry Robinson (Carol) of Cape Coral, Florida and her sister, Ellen of Boulder CO, and many adoring nieces and nephews. Mom was predeceased by her parents, former husband Neil, her son in law Steven Sliva, and her grandson Ryan.
